Set in the picturesque Jura region, the film follows 18-year-old Totone, whose carefree life is upended by the sudden death of his father. Thrust into the role of caretaker for his 7-year-old sister and facing financial hardship, Totone embarks on an ambitious plan: to enter a local cheese-making competition with a substantial cash prize.

Despite having no experience, Totone's determination leads him into the world of traditional Comté cheese production, where he navigates challenges, forms unexpected relationships, and discovers his own resilience.
