Invitation to the 2024 Annual General Meeting of Alliance Française de Darwin

 
Dear Valued Members and Associates,

On behalf of our Alliance, I am delighted to extend to you a cordial invitation to the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Alliance Française de Darwin, scheduled to take place on March 17^th, 2024. The meeting will commence at 2pm and will be held at the Alliance Française de Darwin school, Chapman Road Nightcliff.

As we gather to reflect on our many accomplishments over the past year and chart the course for the future, your presence and participation are invaluable. This AGM serves as an opportunity for us to come together as a community, share insights, and collectively contribute to the continued growth and success of Alliance Française de Darwin.

In particular, we wish to highlight the importance of increased volunteer participation within our organization. Volunteers form the backbone of our initiatives, lending their time, skills, and enthusiasm to drive our mission forward. Whether you're a student, parent, longstanding member or new to our community, we welcome your involvement in various capacities.

All current committee position will be open to nomination and election at this AGM, we'll also be addressing the crucial matter of unfilled committee positions. The following roles are currently vacant and present an excellent opportunity for individuals eager to make a meaningful impact:

• Secretary: Responsible for maintaining accurate records of meetings, correspondence, and administrative tasks.
• Event Support Team Members: Collaborate with our events team to organize and execute engaging cultural and social events, workshops, and activities.
• Communications and Media Officer: Spearhead our communication efforts, including social media management, newsletter creation, and public relations initiatives.
• Volunteer Coordinator: develop and work with new and existing volunteers to support the work of the organisation.

If you're passionate about promoting French language and culture, possess relevant skills, and are committed to contributing your time and expertise, we encourage you to consider stepping forward to fill one of these vital roles. Your dedication will not only enrich our alliance but also foster a vibrant and inclusive community here in Darwin.

Together, let us continue to strengthen the bonds of friendship and cultural exchange that define Alliance Française de Darwin. Your active participation is essential in shaping the future direction of our organization and ensuring its continued success.

The agenda for the meeting will be (as per our constitution)

1. Acceptance of the minutes of the 2023 AGM
2. Consideration of the reports on the previous year activities (president's report)
3. Consideration of the audited accounts of the previous year (treasurer's report)
4. Nomination and election of new committee members
5. Membership fee for the coming year - no change to the membership fee
6. General discussion and upcoming events

We encourage you to nominate yourself or other members to be part of our committee.
If you are not able to come to the AGM, feel free to fill out a proxy form so someone can vote on your behalf.
