French Bilingual Classes

Was your child born in a bilingual family or is a fluent French speaker?

The Alliance Française de Darwin offers classes for bilingual children who wish to keep up with the French school curriculum

• Petite Section (3 to 5 yo). (This class was called French Kinder in prior Terms) This class is aimed at 3 to 5 year old bilingual students and is taught in French through play, song, and arts and crafts. 45 min.

• Club des Petits Level 1 (6yo+). Class only in French. Learn how to read (CP+) and write in French. Practise your words, verbs, numbers and play lots of French games. 90 min.

• Club des Petits Level 2 (8yo+). Class only in French. Learn how to read (CE2+) and write in French. Practise your writing, verb tenses, numbers and play lots of French games. 90 min.

• Club des Grands (10yo+) Practice your French with reading (CM1+), writing, verb tenses, grammar and lots of games. 90 min.

• Club des Jeunes (12yo+) Improve your French with reading (5ème+), writing, grammar and fun games. 60 min.

Depending on their level of French speaking we might direct your children to a FLE (French as a second language) class instead. Our classes are designed to suit the level of each children as their level of French will differ depending on their exposure to French language. 

We are using the FLAM (Français Langue Maternelle) curriculum as well as the French Education curriculum for reading and grammar. We understand that your children might want to study or live in France or any Francophone countries so we want to work with you to prepare him/her for it.

Our teacher is a native French speaking teacher with experience in teaching French to bilingual children.
